If anything appeals to the imagination, it is a prospective bride who runs away on her wedding day. This documentary follows nineteen women across four continents who, dressed up in their wedding gowns, cross cities, industrial estates and vast fields. The director juggles with fiction and reality and attempts to explain things from different cultural backgrounds. This produces revealing accounts and occasionally fabulous footage, but the puzzle of the runaway bride is not solved - on the contrary.
