When the father of Yung Ling and Lok Man suddenly dies, the irreconcilable brother and sister have to make great efforts to save the family restaurant from its downfall.
Restaurant owner Chang dies in a curious way in the kitchen of his eatery. All of Obdam is deeply mourning ‘their’ Chinese take-away and Chang’s wife Suk Wai makes an appeal to her adult children. Now, the ever loyal Yung Ling and the eccentric rake Lok Man are forced to jointly help her keep the unsuccessful Chinese-Indonesian family restaurant Happy Palace going. Old role patterns emerge, generational differences are thrashed out and secrets revealed. And then a vengeful great-aunt drops by to boot, in this family drama.
