Highly imaginative short horror film in which a young woman on her daily run accidentally ends up in the habitat of a tribe of murderous gnomes.
During her daily run, a young woman’s eye spots a path full of mysteriously glowing mushrooms. Her curiosity aroused, she takes that road, which will cost her dearly. She is assaulted by gnomes who are not cute nor harmless, but sadistic and cruel. Director and scriptwriter Ruwen Heggelman, who since his graduation from the HKU in 2015 has been devoting himself to films in which horror and fantasy are at the forefront, put out all stops here, from form to sound design, so the bloodthirsty gnomes pop off the screen. There are American plans for a feature film adaptation of Gnomes.
