After an embarrassing slip-up mispronouncing "gnocchi," Emma wants nothing more than to disappear in this tragicomedy. She turns her back on her circle of friends and opts for a life of isolation. But even there, her obsession continues to haunt her.
An innocent anecdote about her first date, involving an awkward slip of the tongue, is the final straw for Emma, who suffers from social anxiety disorder. Now 29, she lives all alone, far from civilisation. But even there, the fear and the memory prove paralysing and suffocating. On her thirtieth birthday, she decides it's time for a redo. Whether it makes any difference to the world is questionable, but for Emma, it's a moment in which she rewrites her own story.
