More than two thousand years ago, the Roman poet Virgil composed an ode to agriculture: Georgica. What do modern-day farmers in Flevoland think of these verses? In four chapters, the film sheds light on the Flevopolder and shows how the farmers in this well-ordered landscape carry out their profession. Elements like the seasons, the soil that has to be tilled and the sounds of the birds have remained unchanged through the centuries. But seemingly spontaneously, stories rise to the surface about drastic changes, like the influence of the food industry and present-day regulation.
