This short absurdist comedy captures the clumsiness of everyday life from a wide bird's-eye perspective. Framed shots of Rotterdam in summertime humorously illustrate scenes full of awkwardness, coincidence and humanity.
With extreme wide shots, Little Problems sets the grandeur of the city against the small dramas of everyday life: a marriage proposal that goes painfully wrong, a dog left behind out of revenge, or the petty frustrations that suddenly flare up between a married couple. This short film portrays recognisable situations with little dialogue. The filmmaker zooms in on human frustrations and distils them down to their comic essence.
