Freedom

Director: Arjan Brentjes
Women are from Venus, men are from Mars? Perhaps, but these two astronauts try to escape a fascist regime by setting course for Jupiter, with forbidden art in the hold. Long live freedom? Well, not really.
An alternative earth, somewhere around the 1980s. A fascist regime is in global charge. Two astronauts try to save some hidden art treasures by smuggling them aboard their space ship and setting course for Jupiter. Once they are beyond the range of direct communication with the control room on earth, they heave a sigh of release. At last they are free. Still, during their long space travel, irritations mount and the mutual differences of opinion gradually show up. But it is yet another confrontation that leads to a surprise ending in this retro animation.
