Poignant documentary that shows how big the human-made gap is between the life of animals in the bio-industry and that of our beloved pets.

Why do people close their eyes to the fact that millions of animals in the food industry are suffering, while other species are treated as family members? From the animals’ perspective, we see how chicks and piglets are ‘processed’ as soulless products, how cows are cuddled and dogs get a genuine funeral. In his first film, photographer Jan van IJken reveals how bizarre and complex the relationship between man and animal really is.
