Horror debut in which a former Bosnian refugee makes a movie about the asylum seekers’ centre from which her brother once disappeared. A film in which fiction and current affairs cross paths.
When the native Bosnian Aisha and cameraman Elias are working on a documentary about the asylum seekers’ centre from which Aisha's brother vanished without a trace in the 1990s, they come across another film crew who seems to be capturing an even darker story. In this first feature film by director and co-screenwriter Ruben Broekhuis, current affairs and fact-based events are cast in a mould that we know from so-called found-footage horror.
