A hybrid road movie in which the filmmaker, in search of greatness, climbs Mont Blanc to recite a 19th-century Polish poem. An epic act – or a glorious failure?
Structured as a travel narrative, this film doesn’t follow a clear physical path, but rather the filmmaker’s search for greatness, stability and meaning. Her goal? To perform an epic act. So, she climbs Mont Blanc to recite a 19th-century poem by Polish poet Juliusz Słowacki. But this intention gradually shifts into a reflection on the impossibility – and impossible beauty – of translating poetic ideas into real-world action. A graduation film that journeys through both physical landscapes and inner terrains in the filmmaker’s mind, exploring the tension between poetic ambition and direct experience.
