In an extremely efficient future society, Jayson’s grandma and Maud’s grandpa fail the annual competence test for people over 70. In this youth series, they are deported to a seniors’ island.
It is the year 2040 and in this future Netherlands every citizen must perform. Children study for their future, parents work non-stop and the Uit Treed Test (resignation test) measures to what extent people in their seventies still fit in this over-efficient society. If they fail, they are deported to one of the artificial islands off the Dutch coast. In this eight-part youth series, grandchildren Jayson and Maud discover that their grandparents are not ‘enjoying a life of leisure’ over there at all. So they plot a spectacular escape.
