Elisabetta Agyeiwaa was born in Italy and abandoned as a baby in Friesland. Now, as a filmmaker and a victim of identity fraud, she makes an ultimate attempt to unearth answers.
The Ghanaian-Dutch filmmaker Elisabetta Agyeiwaa (1991) was born in Brescia, Italy and abandoned as a baby in Friesland. Here, she grew up illegally and without a family, while another child took over Elisabetta’s Italian birth certificate and place in the family. In this short documentary, she makes a last attempt to find out what happened three decades ago. Why her mother decided not to be hér mother. And why she keeps banging on the closed doors of bureaucracy and nobody has so far been able to help her obtain a legal identity. Three years ago, her personal history was already the subject of her graduation film Ik leef maar ik besta niet.
