Feature film by Agresti tells the story of the rise and fall of the Argentine conjurer Miguel Quiroga. From an insignificant book collector, he becomes a world-famous conjurer with his vanishing act, with which he can make literally anything disappear. He found the formula in an obscure book about magic which he stole from a second-hand bookshop. When he gets a contract to work for a circus, he burns the book in a fit of paranoia. The years pass and the vanishing act provides him wealth. But he remains afraid that there may still be a copy of his book in circulation and that competition may be looming. So he lives in great luxury but with a constant fear.
