Earl Elliot - Training for a Marathon

Director: Danny Griffioen

A metaphor for the struggle to become a famous artist, "Training for a Marathon" sees Elliot (Quinten De Pauw) play both participant and spectator, while his coach constantly bullies him like a nagging voice in his head. Only after hitting rock bottom can Elliot find peace and finally break his record.

This clip won the Audience Award in the program Fullscreen x XITE 2021.

This 2025 edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Fullscreen x XITE program!
Fullscreen x XITE has been a festival highlight for years. Over the past eight editions, clips from a wide variety of artists have been featured: from S10 to Kempi, from André Hazes to Akwasi, from Froukje to De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. But also international clips by Madonna, Janelle Monáe, and James Blake. After all, Dutch directors go far and wide, creating music videos that reach well beyond our borders. So, once again this year, you can look forward to a richly diverse program! The selection will be announced in August.
In between the clips, the program’s creator, Job de Wit, will talk with directors and artists. This way, you’ll hear the stories behind the videos, gain insight into the making of music videos, and learn more about the creative collaboration between directors and artists.
