In this short documentary, a filmmaker and her mother search in recently opened archives for their (great-)grandfather’s NSB past. The emotional search reveals upsetting facts.
People who were 'wrong' during WW II could sometimes take this (family) secret to their graves. Until now. After an amendment of the law, Monique (56), the mother of documentary maker Lisa Hukker (26), can finally sort out the exact background of her tainted family name, now that the Central Archive of Special Jurisdiction has been opened. In this intimate documentary, mother and daughter look the lion in the mouth. What do they find out about their (great-)grandfather’s NSB past? Will they, his relatives, be condemned again, eighty years later, for their ancestor’s actions?
