Painful coming-of-age of an 18-year-old girl who, afflicted by negative experiences, reacts to her loss of faith in affectionate sex with cold-hearted behaviour and man-hate.
After living for years with her father, eighteen-year-old Merel has lived with her divorced mother only briefly when she decides to leave again. She wants to stand on her own two feet and rents a room in town. She grew up in a village, on the farm of her father and his new wife. Looking for contact and love, she arrives at a shocking conclusion: she hates men. While she struggles with her sexuality, it turns out it’s not only the present that is to blame.
