In this ultrashort animation film, cartoon hero Dirkjan is brought to life. And how: cartoonist Mark Retera's brainchild, the bespectacled nerd who always wears a striped shirt, even ends up ruling the world with an iron hand. What are his intentions with us, and how did it get this far? In less than two minutes, themes like populism, the rise of a political ruler and the use of new media are hilariously tackled.
