Dio f/ Ray Fuego en Gerson Main - Blakka Boy

Director: Tristan Hageman
Blakka Boy is a fragmented portrait of Dio, who returns to his old neighborhood in Amsterdam-West after ten years. Where he once left hastily, away from the hustle and bustle, pain, and memories, something now brings him back. There is something that is still unfinished. Blakka Boy captures a world where threat and connection exist side by side, in a rhythm that simultaneously pauses and continues. A neighborhood portrait in which the silences speak and the rawness feels almost familiar.
This 2025 edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Fullscreen x XITE program!
Fullscreen x XITE has been a festival highlight for years. Over the past eight editions, clips from a wide variety of artists have been featured: from S10 to Kempi, from André Hazes to Akwasi, from Froukje to De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. But also international clips by Madonna, Janelle Monáe, and James Blake. After all, Dutch directors go far and wide, creating music videos that reach well beyond our borders. So, once again this year, you can look forward to a richly diverse program! The selection will be announced in August.
In between the clips, the program’s creator, Job de Wit, will talk with directors and artists. This way, you’ll hear the stories behind the videos, gain insight into the making of music videos, and learn more about the creative collaboration between directors and artists.
