A closed door is the starting point of a thwarted attempt to make contact between Iranian refugees Roya and Nassim. Their views of the refugee status are very different. Will they be able to bridge the difference?
To prevent being sent back to Iran, Roya, whose application has been rejected, flees the asylum seekers’ centre. She hopes she can temporarily stay with Nassim, an Iranian girl who is rumoured to assist rejected refugees. But instead she finds Nassim’s brother, who claims he lost the key to the apartment and therefore cannot open the door for Roya. This closed door is the starting point for this ingeniously conceived encounter between two people who fled the same native country, but have opposing outlooks on life.
