When a video and some diaries were found in 2007, it was clear that the Dutch Tanja Nijmeijer was a member of the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia). Because she criticises the FARC in her diaries, people fear for Tanja's life. Filmmaker Leo de Boer tries to find out why a girl from Twente joins a violent guerrilla movement. Alongside Liduine Zumpolle, who published Tanja's diaries and fights effing and blinding for the rights of Colombian people who regret their FARC membership, De Boer undertakes various trips to track down Tanja. They are on the road for more than a year, while people involved turn out to have hidden agendas. Meanwhile, more and more information about Tanja and how the FARC won her over comes trickling in, through former hostages and former housemates. When they have a reasonable suspicion where Tanja is, her mother comes over to talk to her over the radio and convince her to desert. As yet, an answer remains forthcoming.
