Portrait of four winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competion in Brussels.
Portrait of four winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competion in Brussels. The first prize at this prestigious competition is to classical music what the Oscar is to film. For talented musicians winning this prize often means the start of a successful career. But it doesn't always work out this way. In the documentary The Winners four first prize winners are interviewed who, against all expectations, did not become celebrities. Violist Senofsky turned out not to be strife-proof at the top. Russian pianist Moguilevsky was not allowed to leave his country. Violist Bezeverkhny does not want to conform himself to commerce and to violist Hirschhorn finally, it is a big mystery why he was opted out.
