De Staat – Witch Doctor

The impressive video for Witch Doctor is an unrelenting YouTube hit, with almost 2.5 million views. It is a spellbinding and technological tour de force in which De Staat’s frontman Torre Florim is in a large hangar surrounded by a crowd of bald men, whom he stirs up so much that they form a seething tornado. And all this in a single take. The photorealistic animation is a feat achieved by the Breda-based Studio Smack, teaming up with Floris Kaayk. At the International Music Video Festival in Paris, the video won the Audience Award, and in Germany the Berlin Music Video Award.
