Documentary about the almost unknown history of the secret commando group run by Feldmeijer, the head of the German SS. Fifteen Dutch SS men were recruited for this group. They were responsible for assassinating about 55 prominent anti-German Dutch citizens using the code name Silbertanne (Silver Fir). In the film, the director follows the journalist Rob van Olm who finds out new details about the Amsterdam resistance group CS-6: the Silbertan murders turn out to be reprisals for attacks by the CS-6 group. In the documentary, Van Olm traces several children of victims and also a former member of the command. The film is also about the problem of making choices during war and the influence of the past on the present.
