When a man joins the police for a day as part of his research into ethnic profiling, he's confronted with the question of whether he can ever break free from the way others see him.
Officers Maarten and Emma have a complicated day ahead of them. Today, a cultural anthropologist with a migration background is riding along, researching ethnic profiling within the police force — someone who is constantly asked where he's from, no, where he's really from. As the patrol continues, the unease grows, even as Maarten tries to break the ice with a few jokes. But when a call comes in over the radio, the easy-going mood vanishes, and this debut film takes an unexpected, painfully sharp turn.
