Janneke has been a volunteer in palliative terminal care for over 20 years. Does she hope to get control over her own deathbed by closely following other people’s departures?
The relationship between life and death takes centre stage in this observing documentary about volunteer night watch Janneke. For more than twenty years, she has been working as a volunteer in palliative terminal care – both in a hospice and at people’s homes. What moves her to accompany other people to their end? And what is the effect on her daily life, which death is a constant part of? Between the hours she spends caring for people, Janneke tells about her fascination with death and her fears to confront it later in life.
