In 1984, director Frank Wiering followed four disciples of Bhagwan for his documentary De nieuwe mens. Now, twenty years later, he visits them anew. It turns out that they live in different countries; three out of four have partially or entirely built their own houses. They still appear to agree with what they say in the extracts from 1984 that Wiering shows them. They are still looking for peace and quiet, for spirituality, the 'inner' road. One of them gives meditation and yoga workshops on Ibiza; the other has a quietly located house in Dragor, Denmark. A woman migrated to the other side of the world, to Australia, and tells that she still 'worships' when she works. But also the man who, after staying in all sorts of communes, wanted to find out what it was like to live in an apartment with one woman, is doing fine. Today, after many spiritual rambles, he is his personal guru in Buitenveldert, Amsterdam.
