Debut film about filmmaker Johan (Roeland Fernhout), once a celebrated director, whose career has reached a dead end following two flops. In an attempt to make a comeback, he set his sights on the popular scandalous book Rat Cage. A coming-of-age story about a young woman trying to escape her life in a deprived neighbourhood and her alcoholic father. Full of fanfare, Johan announces his plans in a talk show and armed with a young cast and crew he marches into an underprivileged district. However, confrontations with leading actor Cleo and local resident Kelly also confront him with himself. Why does Johan actually want to make this movie?
