Eleven-year-old Billie discovers that a secret inspector is staying at her overworked mother’s hotel. Like a real sleuth, she starts tailing the strange guest, hoping this will win back her mother’s attention.
Because her mother is so busy keeping the family hotel running, 11-year-old Billie is often left to fend for herself. This holiday, they were finally supposed to do something fun together again, but then Billie discovers that a secret reviewer is staying at the hotel, who will decide whether they earn a star. To help her mother and win back her attention, Billie decides – in true detective style – to find out everything she can about the mysterious guest, in this graduation film.
This film is part of the NFF Studentencompetitie and nominated for the Topkapi Filmprijs 2025. The winner will be announced on Monday, September 29th, during the Talent Awards Ceremony at the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht.
