In Oisterwijk in the province of Brabant is The Hondsberg Institute, a home for mentally handicapped children who had severe traumas in their childhood. In a series of five documentaries an objective camera sketches a picture of everyday events in the institute. The series also looks at the feelings of hope and disappointment among parents and staff. In the episode Terence a boy who was sexually abused by his father is taught to arm himself against the big bad world.
