Dutch writer Niels leads a distant, lonely life in Brussels. Her quest to succeed as both a person and a writer leads to an endless wandering between city, nature and her own imagination.
Niels is in her late twenties and has lived in Brussels for years, yet has never quite felt at home anywhere. One evening, as she prints the final pages of her manuscript in her apartment, she suddenly receives a call from the sea — a crackling line full of waves breaking on a shore. The enigmatic phone call affects her more than she'd like to admit. When the connection cuts out, she leaves her apartment and wanders out into the night in this graduation film, in search of clarity.
