Single mum, informal caregiver and chicken keeper. In thirty-something Gaby’s life there is no room for unexpected turns. But of all things it’s her chicken shed balloonist Arnaud crashes down on, making havoc of her life.
Gaby is stuck in a rut. Her days are determined by the care of her child Kuif (6), her mother Mientje – who after her brain haemorrhage refuses to walk - and their suicidal rooster. She doesn’t have time for herself. In this light-hearted feature by director Tim Oliehoek, Gaby’s self-created balance is completely disrupted when balloonist Arnaud moves in next door. He and Gaby clash from day one, but Kuif is taken with this happy-go-lucky adventurer. Can she lower her shield?
