Dagen met Blue

Director: Amanda van Hesteren
Blue is 23, energetic, rebellious, and never stands still. Until, through intimate conversations, the filmmaker discovers a rough childhood and a difficult relationship with her parents lying behind this seemingly carefree lifestyle.
Outspoken Blue lives in Marseille, where she leads a happy life. She's always on the move: climbing over rooftops, roaming the city, forever on the go, in search of freedom, but also of something to hold on to. Because in conversation with the director, she reveals her vulnerable side. Marked by a difficult childhood, Blue struggles to come to terms with her past. Blue's observations are interspersed with private footage from the filmmaker's video archive. The result is a poignant portrait of the crazy, beautiful and sometimes disruptive phenomenon we call family.
