In 1992 the Groningen-based dance company Reflex engaged the controversial Berlin film director Rosa von Praunheim as guest choreographer. Cucumber Salad was the working title of his choreography, which was never to be performed. After almost four months work and preparation, von Praunheim and Reflex decided to end their cooperation. The documentary observes Raza von Praunheim, Patrizia Tuerlings (artistic director of Reflex) and dancer Dietmar Janeck during their encounters and rehearsals in Groningen and Berlin. It soon becomes clear that the ideas of the dancers and choreographer differ drastically. A film about an unbridgeable gap between two worlds.
