To visualise the passion of the hamlets in the Brabant village of Zundert for their annual flower pageant, debuting director Dorien Janssen found a competent assistant in cameraman Jackó van 't Hof. His images complement the story of Corsomania about float builders and their floats. For many months, neither trouble nor time is spared to cut a good figure with the most gorgeous float year after year on the first Sunday in September. It starts with the farmer, standing in the pouring rain on his field saying it is a miracle to see how every time a small bulb grows into a flower, and it ends with the tears of relief shed by the participant who wins the fourth prize. Hundreds and thousands of dahlias, pinned down one by one, sculpt seventeen dreams, for the duration of one long and beautiful day.
