For many people, Electronic Dance Music clubs are the place to go for a night out. Yet the staff who work there put in long, thankless nights. This documentary uncovers the hidden dance of labour and desire behind the worldwide pursuit of euphoria.

In megacities around the world, EDM (Electronic Dance Music) clubs have become cathedrals of desire and spectacle. Through precise, observational footage, Club Heaven captures both the audience's ecstasy and the exhaustion of the staff serving them in a major Chinese EDM club. Without music, and shot partly with a thermal camera, the documentary transforms the club into a living organism, its pleasures and tensions exposed as if under an X-ray glow. Here, the essence of a global dream comes into view: the eternal pursuit of transcendence, night after night.
