Ostend. Pictures and sounds of the quietly murmuring sea. In black-and-white pictures, life in the harbour is quickly portrayed. A woman walks across the Belgian coastal town, visits the peer, populated by fishing and strolling people, buys food and is absorbed in the city, where hollow pleasures, honest labour and deep melancholy go hand in hand.
