Dream and reality merge in this expressive short animation. A South African woman recalls the details of a brutal hold-up, thus putting her thoughts about the event to rest.
She cannot recall exactly how the events took place. But barking dogs bring back memories to a woman of a brutal attack and the desperate flight she subsequently took. In this powerful short animation, South African director Naomi van Niekerk shows how the assailed woman, freely associating, remembers the details and processes the traumatic incident. In a drawing style full of smooth transitions and expressive details, in a cross between dream and reality.
