The right to demonstrate is enshrined in the Dutch Constitution, but why do we actually do it? A short animated documentary on the experiences of activists who encountered police violence during protests against the genocide in Palestine.
During the 2024 protests against the genocide in Palestine, activists came up against heavy-handed police action. Barricades were built, protesters formed human chains, and banners filled the streets of Amsterdam. But what gives these protesters the courage to keep standing their ground, as the threat of police violence keeps escalating? Through vivid animation and the personal accounts of two protesters, the film traces their experiences of police violence. The graduation film Bont en Blauw explores solidarity and resistance among young protesters determined to make their voices heard.
