Research shows that almost one quarter of women experiences sexual violence in their lives. If so many women go through this, who are the ones doing this to them and why do so many rapists get off scot-free?
One quarter of all women in the Netherlands experiences sexual violence. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. In a personally driven film, documentary filmmaker Sunny Bergman examines why sexual violence is a problem of epidemic proportions and how we can break out of this. Why does rape almost always remain unpunished? And what causes the system to fail time and again to tackle sexual violence? Bergman does some soul searching, interviews victims and (potential) perpetrators and sees how people working at the vice squad get bogged down in ‘his word against hers'.
