In his feature debut, photographer and visual artist Gerald van der Kaap gives the leading role to the colour blue. In a Chinese painting factory, art student Fang copies European masterpieces. Until one day a mysterious stranger introduces the colour blue as an elixer. Perhaps to fight pollution, but mainly to free the mind. Fang starts dreaming a different reality in a film that follows its own rules, with references to art and literature, providing critical footnotes about the western view of China.
