The miracle of life as you never see it, because it is invisible to the eye: from the very first proliferation of cells inside a transparent egg to a complex organism with a beating heart. In this case a newt, but it may as well have been a human.
It all starts with one cell that proliferates, then two - and so on. This film about the miracle of the origin of life reveals, down to the smallest details, inside a transparent egg, the 'making of' of an embryo of the alpine newt. This single cell produces a complete, complex living organism with a beating heart and circulating blood. The film shows a process that normally remains invisible: the very beginning of the life of an animal. A process, by the way, that is not very different in humans.
