'When you jump from a tall building and open your eyes in midair, and you see what is coming towards you, you are dead before hitting the ground; you are scared stiff. As a result of heart failure, your soul abandons the body and you are able to fly, after all.' Says Jules Deelder in his rigid logic. Herman Brood likes the idea, but hopes that right before death 'you can peek under a skirt'. From October 1998 until May 2000, Brood and Deelder, along with Bart Chabot, toured the Netherlands with a theatre show 'that started due to a misunderstanding'. The Rotterdam-based DJ Ardy Beesemer took his camera and followed the threesome, who gave him unlimited access and an answer to all his questions. Beesemer not only registered the fit of giggles behind the scenes, but also the ego clash between Deelder and Brood as well as Brood's last performing activities, right to his downfall. 'Ladies and gentlemen, I have kicked my habit.'
