Nine-year-old Tatiana is fine with her role as an interpreter for Mami. She can even use it sometimes to manipulate her mother who is poor at speaking Dutch. But then her mother’s health declines rapidly and they have a to consult a doctor.
In this debut film, Tatiana (9) lovingly translates everything for her Mami – who does not speak Dutch yet. She even sees the fun side of it, because sometimes she can use it to slightly manipulate her mother. Mother and daughter stay illegally with La Señora, a successful fetish model who gives the two shelter and food in exchange for household chores. But when Mami’s health is rapidly declining, La Señora refuses to take responsibility and Tatiana will have to translate the challenging consultation with the doctor.
