Ava & Gabriel - Un historia di amor

Romantic drama in which the Surinam painter Gabriel Goedbloed uses the dark teacher Ava Recordina as a model for the Virgin Mother to make a mural for a church on Curaçao. The local people are shocked about the idea of a black Madonna painted on the wall of the church. Besides this the tensions among the lovers of Ava add up. Filmmaker Felix de Rooy and Norman de Palm won a Golden Calf for their film in 1990.
