Tragicomic story by Tommy Wieringa, read by himself and represented by a series of old black-and-white or sepia-coloured photos. The old pictures contribute to the atmosphere of a Holland long gone. The story tells about the fisherman and pigeon fancier Jan Klick, the first member of his family who learns to read and consequently learns about the wide world through books. One day, a fierce storm erupts. When Jan Klick tries to save his pigeons, his house floats out to sea.
