Intimate and revealing portrait of an important but unassuming artist of pop culture, photographer of bands like U2, Joy Division and Depeche Mode and in recent years also active as a feature filmmaker, with films like The Americanwith George Clooney.

Anton Corbijn has been an all-round and influential visual artist in pop culture over the last three decades. As a photographer, he made a key contribution to shaping the image of artists like Joy Division, U2 and Depeche Mode. He soon made the transition to music videos. In the last decade, he also applied himself to feature films. His first film Control, about the life and death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis, was awarded in Cannes and won a British Academy Award. In 2010, his second feature film The American was released, featuring George Clooney.
For someone who, judged from a distance, leads a glamorous life surrounded by celebrities, he turns out to be surprisingly indifferent to wealth and fame. He is modest and, above all, very sober.
