ANIMORPHIA

Director: Ruud Lenssen
How can we hunt and preserve animals, while also seeking comfort and support in them? Through four powerful portraits, this film unravels the human duality in our attitudes toward animals and nature.
Our moral association with the animal world is central to the mosaic documentary ANIMORPHIA. In a world where our relationship with animals is often contradictory, this documentary poses the uncomfortable question: What does taxidermy say about our love for life – and how we deal with death? Four portraits reveal the deep bond that can exist between humans and animals: From a traumatized war veteran unable to let go of her service dog, to a master taxidermist quietly working toward his lifelong dream.
