On the occasion of what would have been the famous popular singer’s 65th birthday, this tear-jerker, long thought lost, by André Hazes was released after all and couched in a sentimental 1980s video.

Twelve years after popular singer André Hazes’ death, the recordings of this song, long thought lost, were recovered and provided with sentimental images by director Noël Loozen. The song is a genuine 'early Hazes', which he wrote with his cousin before his big breakthrough. The tear-jerker with its summery accordion and echoes of his heroes Johnny Jordaan and Willy Alberti revives the 1980s - partly owing to the retro footage that steers a middle course between tribute and irony.
