Director: Martin Koolhoven
Behind a majestic fence called Amnesia lies a country estate that has changed into a junkyard. For the first time in years, the young photographer Alex visits his parental home. Alex' mother is seriously ill and because his twin brother Aram 'has to go away for a few days', Alex, assisted by a girl he happens upon on his back seat, takes care of his mother for a while. In the thriller AmnesiA, by means of flashbacks, the story gradually unfolds. Why does Alex find it so difficult to photograph people, why does his brother Aram, who is involved in criminal dealings, intimidate him in public and why is his mother a hypochondriac? AmnesiA, Koolhoven's feature début, is part of a film series that was produced within the scope of the No More Heroes project, an initiative enabling young and talented writers and filmmakers to realise a feature film.
