Maarten, a caring and funny man with an intellectual disability, experiences sexual feelings for the first time in life. But what if no one seems to take you seriously?
Butterflies in his stomach, an erect penis – it’s all new to Maarten (34). What do all these feelings mean? And more importantly: How do you even kiss someone? What should have been a beautiful journey turns out to be different for Maarten. Rejection and misunderstanding shape his experience. Why does kissing seem so normal to others, but everyone gets angry when he tries? In this graduation film, Maarten is confronted with the various frameworks, myths and beliefs we humans are taught about love and intimacy. He navigates through them, meanwhile learning what he personally enjoys.
